Proud to share that the Armenian delegation, invited by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and its awareness and fundraising organization ALSAC, attended the 4th Scientific Meeting of the Pediatric Oncology East and Mediterranean (POEM) Group in Amman, Jordan, from April 30 to May 3.

Our delegation included:

• Gevorg Tamamyan – President of the Pediatric Oncology East and Mediterranean Group
• Ester Demirtshyan – Executive Director of the City of Smile Foundation
• Lilit Grigoryan – Fundraising and Donor Relations Manager at the City of Smile Foundation
• Ruzanna Papyan – Head of the Oncology Department at the Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Armenia
• Julia Hoveyan – Pediatric Oncologist

• Nurses: Marine Azaryan, Maria Aleksandrova, Melanya Sahakyan, Azniv Gevorgyan, Taguhi Hovhannisyan, Asya Galstyan, Vera Mkhitaryan.

This conference brought together professionals from around the globe, all working towards a vital mission: ensuring that all children facing cancer have equal access to treatment and fostering the exchange of valuable knowledge and experience.

As the only foundation in Armenia dedicated to supporting children and young adults battling cancer, we are proud to have played a significant role in achieving a remarkable treatment success rate of 70-75% for pediatric cancer in our country. We are excited about the opportunity to learn from international best practices, implement them in Armenia, and share our successes with global partners.
