It’s Wednesday, and today we’re sharing the story of 13-year-old Hovhannes from the Shirak region.

Hovhannes is fascinated by space. There isn’t a single day he doesn’t read space news, even during his treatment at the Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Armenia.

His mom is always amazed by how much he knows. One day, while looking out the hospital room window and watching birds fly, Hovhannes told her that the Earth’s magnetic field must be weaker, because birds use it to find their way, and these birds were flying in a strange way.

Hovhannes is very friendly and really misses his football team, where he used to train before getting sick.

He also loves music and dreams of learning to play the guitar one day.

Hovhannes’ big wish is to have a good telescope so he can look at the stars from the window of their home in Gyumri.

Hovhannes’s dream came true thanks to little Areg, who, has seen the story about Hovhannes’s dream, and decided to make our hero happy with his present.

Hovhannes is so excited about his telescope that he asked his doctor at the Children’s Cancer and Blood Diseases Center of Armenia to let him stay at home overnight so that he could study the stars and planets from his window in the evening.
