Anna Hakobyan visited Peking University Cancer Hospital
Anna Hakobyan, spouse of Armenia’s PM, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of City of Smile foundation, visited the Peking University Cancer Hospital in the framework of her visit to the People’s Republic of China on May 15. The meeting was attended by Secretary General of China Anti-Cancer Association (CACA) Ying Wang, Deputy Director of External Relations Tingting Xu, Deputy Directors of Peking University Cancer Hospital John Guo and Kaifeng Pang. Anna Hakobyan presented the activities and projects of the “City of Smile” Foundation.
“Around 100 new cases of pediatric cancer are registered annually in Armenia. City of Smile Foundation completely covers medical bills of the patients, as well as provides food for inpatient kids. But our plans are broader. Our goal is to create a regional cancer center in Armenia”, said Anna Hakobyan.
“China has been friends with Armenia for centuries and we are convinced that we can cooperate to fight cancer”, said Wong. During the meeting the parties discussed ways and possibilities for further cooperation.
Peking University Cancer Hospital is one of the five best
hospitals in China. It combines traditional Chinese medicine with modern
medical innovations. The hospital cooperates with many hospitals in the world,
and there are many foreign professors among the medical staff. In addition to
providing medical services, the hospital also organizes lectures and trainings
for foreign specialists.
