Yerevan – After a 18-year break, on September 7, Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex hosted a charity concert “You Have to Fly” by a musician, composer, musical producer, Honorary Artist of the Republic of Armenia Ara Gevorgyan and the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra (conductor Eduard Topchjan). Other prominent musicians, singers and dance groups also took part in the concert.
The proceeds of the symbolic “You Have to Fly” concert will be directed to City of Smile Foundation to support children with cancer and blood disorders.
During the two-hour concert the audience enjoyed Ara Gevorgyan’s already well-known works, as well as new ones were performed. The evening also featured “Our Charles” song dedicated to the great Armenian, world-renowned chansonnier Charles Aznavour and performed by the talented singer Sona Rubenyan. Nicolas Aznavour, the son of the great chansonnier, was also in the audience.
The performance of “You Have to Fly” song, which began and ended with a prayer, was especially touching.
We express our deepest gratitude to Ara Gevorgyan, ANPO led by Maestro Eduard Topchjan, as well as the concert organizer Prime Production, all the sponsors, supporters, participants of the concert and of course every single person who attended the concert.
Only together we can give our children wings to fly.
