The ALSAC Global Scholarship Program is a yearlong learning program that brings together fundraisers from partner foundations around the world with ALSAC subject matter experts․ The mission of the program is to establish a solid understanding of the fundamentals of fundraising as well as the execution of fundraising activities. (ALSAC is the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, one of the most prestigious hospitals in the United States.) A year ago, Armenia, represented by the City of Smile Charitable Foundation, was given a unique opportunity to join this program and learn from and with specialists from various organizations supporting kids with cancer in different countries around the world. Tamara Apoyan, Public Relations and Marketing Manager of the City of Smile Foundation, was chosen to join the program. We are thrilled that Tamara was the one selected as the class representative for the 2022 Global Scholar Class, thus becoming the first graduation speaker from Eurasia. We are proud of all the accomplishments of our Toma both as a representative of Armenia and City of Smile Foundation. We very much look forward to realizing new projects and campaigns using her newly gained knowledge and skills for the benefit of children fighting cancer in Armenia. Our dearest, most inspiring ALSAC, we are profoundly grateful for this experience. It is an honor to be a member of ALSAC Global Alliance and to have the opportunity to learn from all of you.
Armenia was the first country to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital on April 12, 2019. Joining St. Jude Global Alliance, Armenia has joined other countries to unite efforts for addressing the challenges of pediatric oncology and providing diagnostics and treatment for all children with cancer.
