At Hematology Center named after prof. Yeolyan there will be a pediatric palliative care division. Armenpress reports that during the press conference Ester Demirtshyan, Executive Director of “City of Smile” Charitable Foundation, said that the Foundation, in collaboration with the US-based St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, carries out project planning.

“Today, in collaboration with St. Jude Hospital, the project planning of the first pediatric division is being implemented. The construction is due to begin in July. We do hope that by the end of this year we will be able to open the division. It is very important because it will be the first in Armenia. There is a great need for such a division”, said Demirtshyan.

The division will operate on the premises of Hematology Center after Yeolyan. Demirtshyan emphasized the importance of palliative care service to be a part of any pediatric cancer treatment center.
