Memorandum of Understanding signed in Moscow between City of Smile Foundation and Dmitry Rogachev National Research Center of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Immunology

Moscow – On February 25, a trilateral memorandum has been signed in Moscow between City of Smile Foundation, Dmitry Rogachev National Research Center of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Immunology and the “Наука-детям” (Science to Children) Foundation. On the Armenian side, the memorandum was signed by Spouse of the Armenian PM, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of City of Smile Charitable Foundation Anna Hakobyan, and on the Russian side, President of Dmitry Rogachev National Research Center of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Immunology Alexander Rumyantsev and Scientific Director of the Center Mikhail Maschan.
In her speech, Anna Hakobyan noted that cooperation is very important, as the parties have one common goal – to ensure that every child with cancer and blood disorder receives treatment that is up-to-date.
“Recently, I learned that almost half of all children with cancer in the world are not examined at all. I am very happy that the statistics in our countries are a little different, but I must say that we must do our utmost to ensure that all cases are diagnosed in a timely manner and that no child is left without proper examination and treatment.”
Anna Hakobyan added that the foundations pursue this very goal – to help professionals defeat cancer. Anna Hakobyan emphasized the importance of cooperation with the “Наука-детям” (Science to Children) Foundation, adding that since its inception City of Smile Foundation has set itself the goal not only to support children and young people with cancer and blood disorders, but also to contribute to the development of pediatric oncology and hematology in Armenia. The purpose of the trilateral memorandum signed in Moscow is to strengthen cooperation in scientific research, promote the exchange of experience among professionals, conduct online consultations, organize joint scientific research, conferences, symposiums and so on.
During the visit the Armenian delegation toured the center,
got acquainted with the treatment conditions, talked to the medical staff. Anna
Hakobyan has donated toys made in Armenia to the children, receiving treatment
at the center.
On the same day, a Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between Dmitry Rogachev National Research Center of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Immunology and Hematology Center of Armenia named after Prof. R. Yeolyan.
